COVID-19 Response & Safety
I am currently serving all my clients via teletherapy and/or in-person sessions. The availability of in-person meetings are subject to change based on COVID-19 pandemic conditions and safety recommendations. For virtual sessions, I use a secure Audio/Video solution that allows us to meet virtually. If you are in need of support right now, just reach out to me and we will schedule an initial consultation.
We each develop and function in the context of family relationships. When our family is struggling or experiencing conflict, learning how to communicate with and understand one another is essential.
Let’s work as a team to create positive change and strengthen the relationships in your family.
Family therapy helps each family member become aware of the negative cycles they engage in and develop new, more helpful strategies. Having a therapist as an observer and guide, can help members deepen their empathy and understanding of one another, thereby reducing conflicts and misunderstandings that often create disconnection, resentment, and distress.
In our work together, your family will:
learn tools everyone can use right away to manage their emotions and stressors
develop effective response styles and appropriate boundaries
discover ways to support one another and draw on each member’s strengths
communicate thoughts, feelings and needs
strengthen mutual respect and deepen connections
learn how to reduce the intensity of conflicts
Let’s work together to create the understanding, connection, and communication your family needs to live happier, more satisfied lives.
Reach out today and I will be happy to answer your questions and help you take the next step towards creating a happier, healthier family experience.
Family therapy is ideal for families adjusting to:
separation or divorce
conflict between members
family member(s) struggling with addiction, medical, or mental health issues
a major transition or change
grief and loss
“Family” can be defined as anyone who plays a long-term supportive role in one’s life, which may not mean blood relations or family members living in the same household.
Family therapy is proven to reduce distress and conflict in families by improving the way members interact with each other.
My work with families
I approach each family according to their own distinctive needs, using creativity and curiosity to explore family relationships and address family dynamics in a practical, strength-based way.
I utilize a Family Systems approach which understands difficulties in the family as the result of patterns or systems that need adjusting. Because the focus is taken off of a particular person in the family as the cause of said difficulty, the entire group has a chance to recognize the patterns and cycles within the system itself that may be keeping the family and its members stuck. By working together, families can develop new, more helpful strategies for communicating, managing stressors, and supporting each other in healthy and meaningful ways.
