COVID-19 Response & Safety

I am currently serving all my clients via teletherapy and/or in-person sessions. The availability of in-person meetings are subject to change based on COVID-19 pandemic conditions and safety recommendations. For virtual sessions, I use a secure Audio/Video solution that allows us to meet virtually. If you are in need of support right now, just reach out to me and we will schedule an initial consultation.

All relationships face conflict and periods of stress.  Having a safe, supportive space to work through relationship issues can foster honesty, and deepen connection and intimacy between partners.

It’s never too late or too early to spend some time focusing on your relationship.

In our work together, you and your partner will learn how to recognize the cycle you get caught in and find new, effective ways to communicate and connect.  By working to understand one another, we can appreciate the strengths each partner brings into the relationship, and develop new skills around communication, conflict, and intimacy.

What To Expect:

Using concepts founded in Emotion Focused Therapy, we will work together to help you and your partner identify and understand how your early relationships influence your current one, and begin to disrupt the patterns that may be getting in the way of a healthy, happy relationship.

We will work together to address each partners concerns and needs, by fostering empathy, effective communication, safety, and trust in the relationship.   Enhancing each partner’s ability to talk to and understand one another is essential to creating a relationship that thrives.

What is Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT)

EFT is a highly effective, structured approach to couples therapy developed by Dr. Sue Johnson in the 1980’s.  According the EFT model, our emotions inform the way we engage and respond to our partners and ourselves.

I work with couples using an EFT model because of how effective it has proven to be.  Empirical research shows that 70-75% of couples engaging in Emotion Focused couples therapy move from distress to recovery and approximately 90% show significant improvement in the relationship.  To learn more, you can visit www.iceeft.org.
